Setting Up The Tent

Yesterday, I found some water repellent spray at the store, and finally broke down to get it. It put me in the mood to set the tent up finally! We've had some gorgeous days, and some really over cast days, and some out right storms, so I have been hesitating in putting it up.

I finally decided to do it, though. I did the entire thing alone, except when it was time to raise the poles. Then I had Raegan help, since she'll be my helper when it's actually time to do it for real. After getting it mostly set up (I didn't stretch out the canopy that is attached, nor did I do the tie down strings last night), I went over everything but the top of the rain fly with the repellent spray.

Once that was done, I went over every seam with a seam sealer. Today, it got a test- it's been raining for about an hour now, but the tent is dry as can be inside. In fact, the mail lady used it to store a package for me today!

I got home from the store, checked the tent, then went to the mailbox and noticed she'd left a note telling me there was a package in the tent, and signed it "Mail lady/creature". I completely over looked it while I was checking on the tent!

I made the reservations for me and the kids at the camp ground, so we're all set there, too.
