Well i am back from dropping off Anthony!!

I just dropped off Anthony at the school onto his charter bus he went. As you know he is off on his trip of a lifetime:) He is going to DC and NYC:)

His itinerary includes:

The staute of Liberty and Ellis island, museum of Natural History, New York City, Empire State building, Sepreme court, National archives, Capital Hill, Arlingotn National Cemetary, Mount Vernon, Union station AND a tour of the White House:)

How cool is that.

The poor fella will be dead tired when he gets home, he will travel OVER 4000 miles in a week.

I sure dont remember school trips like that when i was a kid...

One of the moms set up a website to keep us parents at home in the loop of where they are at and what they are doing. I am posting pics in a photo album as they are posted to the site:)

I will be up until i know he has landed safetly at his destination.

I let him take my camera and he promises to take loads of pics:) I even gave him extra batteries and memory cards.. I think he got the hint..lol

 

UPDATE: he has landed safetly in DC:)

When I was in high school (back in the '70's), my church sponsored a trip to NYC and Washington DC just like this. We were gone for a week. It also included attending some sessions and lectures at the United Nations building since that was the key to the trip. Otherwise, we did just about everything your son is going to do.

It was a memorable trip for me, as I was quite the homebody. I also learned quite a bit more about human nature. But I'm glad I went. I hope he has a camera and will take tons of pictures (Oh, how I wish we had digital back then!).

I don't either, but I lived in NYC. I remember one night we went to the Waldorf and got stuck in as snow storm and had to spend the night. I loved it.

Cool, bet he has a blast! look forward to seeing pictures. I got to go to DC in the 5th grade, and mexico when I was a sophmore in high school; it was really fun!

We had an eighth grade trip to DC when I was in school too, it was so much fun, bet he is going to love it.

We were always going somewhere in grade school. Went to Washington several times, but they were always just day trips on a school bus. We always had a great time. Glad your son has this opportunity to do this. He'll remember it for a lifetime! Anxious for you to share his pics!

The only big trip we ever took in school was to the science center in Toronto.

I can speak for New York City and that’s definitely cool. They just opened more of the statue, and the Museum of Natural History has so much cool in it you could go there for several days and have some cool left over you missed. But the bus trips will be long. It’s a good thing they have a week, but even then a lot of it is going to be spent traveling.

I didn't get school trips like that either! LOL In high school my daughter got trips to Disney World with her dance team!

I'm sure he's very excited and can't wait to see everything. He'll be tired, but he'll be so excited to show you the pictures and tell you everything. lol I doubt he'll sleep much the night/day he returns.

Very happy he could make the trip!

Our senior trip was an evening at amusement park about 40 miles away. My son had a band trip to Disney World, but my daughter's class didn't do anything.
This trip is great because it's so educational as well as fun. All that history and even things they'll be able to spot on TV and say, "I've been there."
Hope the sponsors are full of energy. They'll be living on caffeine after all this.

Sounds like a great trip just make sure he has every thing he needs packed maybe a extra camera for just in case :)
