What do you think about churches asking for resignations of their staff? Our church asked for the pastor's resignation and the compassion leader after an affair (policy). They admitted it and gave their resignations. They worked things out with their spouses and the pastor accepted counseling from the church. The other party left the area. That was awhile ago, but today I found out we requested the resignation of our music leader and the music director and received those. I don't know the reason but I'm not sure I care. I keep wondering what ever happened to forgiveness? If they repent who are we to judge? The response to this is normally..."they are held to a higher level". What higher level? God? We can't be God and as far as any other level we are all expect to do our best not to sin. So how are you all doing? Oops, I am still sinning. I try not to but I still do sometimes. My sin may not be the say as yours but guess what...God don't care what the sin is; He just cares about each of us and ours lives. Sin is sin. There is no order of best to worst. Sin is the knowingly doing wrong against God and His will for us. Our churches would be empty if when we were "caught" sinning we were asked to leave. I just think there has to be a better way.
