Sistahs - Gracious greetings from the middle of nowhere. I'm in Eureka, Nevada on the lonliest road on the lonliest town in the USA. I just celebrated my 60th birthday - actually, I celebrated life from May 1st until now and still going strong. I am sorry that it's been a while since I have posted anything. There were some stress-filled hours due to the Santa Barbara fire and also, dealing with some land issues. All is well for the moment but as you all know: Stress weighs you down!
Spring is the time to clean up your act. Keep moving. Rake that yard, plant those herbs! Watch flowers bloom. Be aware of Nature's gifts. This is the time for cleansing and growth.
It's also creative time! Instead of the Fifth Wave today, I am going to post something called Splash. This is a creative endeavor. You can continue with your Creative Currents because all of you need to be walking one half hour a day. You need to walk!
I was inspired to do this Splash exercise because for this birthday, I decided to order a snake arm bracelet to celebrate the Cleopatra in me! I found a neat company in Rhode Island that works with silver and loved the delicate look of this bracelet. It arrived on my birthday! I am working on designing a necklace to also match my Gather icon! It won't be exactly like that one you see. Ok,.. on to what I want you to do and have fun with this one: Splash
Design a piece of jewelry that you do not have but would love to have and wear! You can describe it in detailed words, draw it, scan pictures - any kind of way to describe the gift you are designing for yourself. Celebrate that special person inside yourself! Have fun with this one! If you have questions, please ask them here.
Thank you Sistahs and keep up the good work. I've heard from several who are staying on course and walking everyday. Please do not forget to keep drinking that water. Please stay on top of your breathing exercises. No one else owns your body but yourself! Take care of it. It is your treasure and your health is your wealth. Salud

I have a life long kid/adult teacher friend from podunk Alaska, who's teaching in podunk Nevada. I think it's in Eureka! Amy Weishahn... I'll check it out. she's a kick, as are you Ms. Mariana.
Congrats on the "Patra glitz", fun!!
I missed your 60th? HAPPY,HAPPY belated, dear.
And Wow... i have a dress from the 70's almost in THOSE colors,lol...
Blessings and best wishes in a plenty - S.
Oh my goodness, this splash is a definate blast from my past! Years ago I used to design jewelry and wrap crystals. One of my friends had a beauty supply store and I took custom orders for friends and neighbors. I would design a piece based on the properties of the stones, the person's personality, etc. Wow, that feels like a million years ago! It will be fun to work on this one and sure to bring back plenty of memories.
Wonder what I'll be today? Years ago I had a major preference for hematite and rose quartz. Funny but just a couple of days ago my son found my original wrapped crystal - a fabulous quartz with a rainbow. Hmm, karma or coincidence ;)
sistah Ade - omg - gotta be here - great schools here in Eureka - I'll ask around but in meantime, tell her I met the music teacher last night - Mr. Cuda - he lives down the road from my cottage here, Isabel.
Elizabeth O. Oh thank you - don't give my friend Kenn any ideas - lol...
Thanks Marianne - same to you !!! Happy birthday to all the May Babies again.
Svetlana - ohhh what a compliment! Thank you and will post more pictures later.
I'll be back in a few folks. Salud
Penni - I have loads of clothes from 70's - that seems like yesterday - some of them are Mrs. Polly Esther.
Peter - you're a trip - come visit me here in Eureka - hahaha you'd love it - well, you'll love the arty ones here. We can really stand out. Ok more later folks Salud
I'm getting away from the diet soda by home brewing a large amount of green tea every day and adding lemon juice to it. The water around here just doesn't taste good! You need something to cover up the chlorine! I hope green tea is a good choice.
Salud to you!
Zumba becomes latest rage in aerobic fitness
Many happy returns.
I hope, Mariana, that you''re came out of that terrible blaze unscathed. I'd love to join Peter when he comes over to visit you and looks at your Cleopatra bracelet. I feel in my bones that it suits you perfectly.
I'm not walking a half hour every day. I have to go back for a second back op. You were so right when you told me it won't be an easy ride.
The agony is killing me but I tell the people around me that it only hurts when I laugh.
Lots of love and a big salud.
great post, good info & advice!!! I especially like the line "your body belongs to no one but you"... truth above all else!!
Well, happy Birthday. Sorry I missed it. Had I known I would have baked you a cake. YOu are friends with all my friends. I think we might had better become friends too. Sixty is not old. I have you beat by 5 years. Cant do the things I could do. But enjoying life as best I can.
Happy Birthday forty niner
Turning sixty couldn't be finer
Egyptian Queen...you are a shiner!
So good to hear from you and was worried about you and the fires, glad you're OK and I know how and what stress can do to you.
Happy belated birthday, takes me awhile to catch up sometimes, but I'm here.
Your bracelet sounds gorgeous and I'm very much into stones too, I need them in my life, though I cannot do the walking as I'll damage what's already a mess to begin with. (which would be bad, with no insurance to get it fixed), so I have to watch all of you do your walking. Things, for me take a lot of time, but I do manage (slowly) to get things done.
I love where you are, it's not a lonely look but a welcoming one, or maybe that's because you're there?
Hugs,
Marilyn
Well hello to you too Sista Mariana!!!
Okay, so you're not a scorpio - I love you anyway - your enthusiasm etc., etc. I'm enjoying leaning more about your activities. Sixty is a great age; I've been there and done that!
Marie! Thank you so very much for your lovely comment! I read your profile and you are indeed one unique woman! Creative, attractive, poised, and talented. You have also lived in New Orleans - a grand place that I love to visit when I return to bayouland. Thanks for letting me know 60 is a great age. I appreciate that. Have a wonderful Sunday! Salud
I love this picture with the rake. Is that one of your paintings you've included in the composition? Very creative.
Marie - I am quite sure there are a few hidden demonds inside of me as well as many spirits - my work is a hodgepodge - but it's theraputic and so much fun to just be sometimes. Your work looks very beautiful. Since you were an artist in New Orleans, you may know a very good friend of mine, Tanya Firmin Dischler. We are from the same hometown! Thanks again and I shall read more of your posts soon. I'm up here in the Great Basin and it's another world - very country! Salud
Thanks, Mariana. The paintings on my site are mostly representational but created from my imagination. I also enjoy putting aside the "tried and true" and letting it all hang out at times. Such fun - and so freeing. Right? Enjoy your country sojourn. I've been away from NO for many years, so don't know your friend. The name sounds familiar, however.
Marie - she does go to Florida quite a bit - anyway, glad you like to experiment with painting - actually, I am constantly experimenting - years ago, I did more impressionistic works and then gradually went abstract but still seeking the balance, light, movement to create a complete work. I use all sorts of material - even housepaint now that I'm working larger - my work really feeds my soul - and gives some people something to talk about - lol...but it's all good - we each should celebrate ourselves however we know how! I'm sure you'll agree. Ok going to eat lunch and sit in my garden which is over-flowing with flowers even way up here! Salud
There is glorious silence in a lonely town.
The photograph is great; fantastic and very cool.
