The Washington County American Cancer Society Relay for Life event Friday night, May 8, passed it's goal of raising $80,000 for cancer treatment and research.
Although just short of the goal when the event started at 6pm with the cancer survivors lap, by the end of the night the group had finished with more than $86,000.
Much of that was due to profits from food vendors, a jail-and-bail, and other events, as well as pledge money still coming in.
The event was held on the parking lot behind Nashville Grade School where a track was marked out and vendors and relay groups put up their booths and campsites.
