Had a pretty good spending to saving ratio last night (I'm always hoping to be around 50%). I had to buy diapers, and that tends to use up a big chunk of my budget (almost a third of what I spent, in this case).
Some of the savings were because of coupons (bought the last of the Tombstone pizzas I needed to buy; 5 pizzas on sale for $3.70 each, plus I had coupons for $2.50 off each, so I got 5 pizzas for $1.20 each), while some of the savings were because of Kroger specials (chicken breasts were on sale for $1.75 PER POUND, so I got two packs of chicken for $3-ish that would normally have been $9-ish--not that I would have bought them at that price). I also picked up two packs of bratwurst (5 brats in each pack) that were on manager's special for $1.75 each, normally $4.40. The only thing that would have made me happier is if I'd had a coupon to use on top :)
