Joan Crawford's Hair - cowboy hair

The 50s Truecolor classic, Johnny Guitar is the western that people love when they hate westerns.  And those who love westerns hate it.

Joan wears the pants in this film (When she wears a big white poofie dress she catches on fire - don't do that).

It is the only western that, regardless of the menacing lynch mob, has the final shoot-out between two women - and it took itself seriously - very - even though it all adds up feeling like a bit of a biting McCarthyism satire.

Sorry Republic Studios, but I don't thing they baled hay or straw with wire back then. Oh well.
Was the fire dress intentional?=O

As for this do, i think only a few could carry it off, and Joan does it with flare =D

Actually Peter, hay was bailed with wire! It only got bailed with this coloured twine later on. When I first got my horse in '85 all the hay and straw was bailing wire!

She should put a hat on that hair!
But how Barbara Stanwyck's hair in Big Valley? She had some frontier chic going.
