Myrtle Beach State Park - First trip to the beach this season

Yesterday was the hottest day so far this season so we thought we'd go to the beach.  DH goes almost every day, I wait until the water is over 75 degrees, it isn't windy, and the water is calm.  I watch the weather every night at 11 PM to check the beach conditions and it seemed like yesterday would be perfect.  It was hot at 85 degrees, the water was warm as predicted, but it was windy and the water wasn't all that calm.  DH said there was a small riptide.  I enjoyed people watching and reading under the canopy though.  Good thing we don't depend on a beach umbrella, they were blowing down the beach instead of buried in the sand protecting those who prefer not to sun bathe.  I got a few photos to, of course.  Dogs are allowed on the beach until May 15th, so there were quite a few.

 I found it funny, these are the same two umbrellas we were always near last year.  Must be popular styles.  The people didn't look familiar.

There were three dachshunds that yapped every time someone moved.  Cute but annoying.

A Dad was helping a little girl fly a kite.

The water was a nice temperature but too rough for me.

The beach wasn't crowded at all.

I stayed for a few hours, until I couldn't take the wind any longer.  I also found some blooming palms on a little walk I took.

While leaving Myrtle Beach State Park we could smell the wonderful fragrance of the honeysuckle.  I took these two photos while driving through.

All the white you see is honeysuckle blooms.

I can't wait to go back again, maybe the ocean will be calmer.  DH went today and said it wasn't as windy or rough.
