Just cashed in at MyPoints!

I've been hording my points over at MyPoints for a while now. Since I rarely order anything online, the points are slow. I get a few extra from Bzz Agent, but most of them are from the 5 point emails. I've been contemplating what to get for a while now. I've had enough points for over a month now.

I finally decided to look up gas stations in the Mackinaw City area. I have $75 in Speedway gift cards for gas, but I wasn't sure if there was a Speedway up there. I can gas up down here with it, no problem. After looking, I noticed the nearest one is in a city 20 minutes away,

I looked at MyPoints, and they have both Shell & BP gas cards, so I looked. BP is in St. Ignace only, where as Shell has a location in Mackinaw City, and 2 in St. Ignace.

This will give me $100 total for gas. I'm planning to gas up before leaving, and if my calculations are right (and I erred on the side of caution and gave me less miles per gallon than I think we actually get), it will take a full tank of gas to get up there. So, if I stop about halfway up, and fill it again at a Speedway, I should be able to do some driving around with that, before filling it back up with the $25 Shell card I got.

$100 of free gas money- woohoo! Ok, actually not free. I got the $25 Shell card free, and $25 of the Speedway gift card free. The other $50 Nick put on a card for me a few months ago when they ran a deal where it was $5 off (so $50 for only $45), and you got 1000 points (good towards redeeming for gas cards!). So, $55 free, and $45 donated by Nick. ;)
