For the last three years I have gone on the East Sacramento Garden Tour with my family. It is held on Mother's Day weekend and it is a chance to get some ideas for my yard as well as a great family outing and a way of getting some excersise. Each year, around seven back yards are featured. Exterior designers will set up the yards to llok like they are about to have a outdoor party and spruce the up a bit to make them really nice. They also feature a craft fair at the David Lubin School. David Lubin was one of the founder's of Weinstock's and the proceeds on the tour go towards the David Lubin School. They also hold a buffet lunch at the Sutter Lawn Tennis Club. The Sutter Lawn Tennis Club is the oldest in Sacramento and was opened in 1919.
The weather wa
s beautiful and was perfect for walking around the neighborhood. Some of the homes were fantastic as well! The yards ranged from very small to moderate in size and all of them were immaculate. Some had outdoor kitchens that I would love to have as my indoor kitchen! One in particular was complete with a dining area, bar area, flatscreen tv, and dishwasher!

I got a lot of ideas for things I would like to do in my backyard. I am even inspired to try to organize a garden tour in the Natmoas area where I live. I think it would be great to invite others to tour my backyard one I get it looking the way I want! Until then, be sure to check out some of the photos of the yards on the tour. Enjoy!

This is really neat, thanks for sharing.
That sounds like a lot of fun.
These are great! And I'd love to be the first visitor when your own back yard is available to tour! Unfortunately, my back yard leaves a lot to be desired...
I still have a lot of work to do on my yard but the part off the patio I think would be acceptable for viewing now. Just try to ignore the parts that are not "tour ready"!
This is such a great share!
Looks like a wonderful event. I even love the Art Nouveau Poster
David, love all of these shots - what a fun event. I do think you should organize a garden tour in your very own neighborhood as your garden rivals these in its own way and you put lots of your own personality into it! I can't wait to see pictures of your garden now. Let me know when you post them again. Sorry I'm so late getting here but you know how things have gone! hugs, Salud
Beautiful essay. Thanks for sharing!
:) wishing you laughter
Nice tour. Yes, do your own. Don't worry, gardens are never perfect or ready because they are constantly changing.
David, this is a beautiful journal presentation and i feel almost as if i'd joined in - ideas for gardens indeed! Now where's that shovel?
That sounds like a great time, David! I enjoyed your photo essay very much, and hope to see more from you!
A lovely garden tour. Loved the fountains and fireplace, very cool.
They have garden tours in our area and they are always such a treasure trove of ideas. Gardens are so unique just like their owners.
Go ahead and get a group going so you have your gardens ready for a spring tour:)
That looks like it was great. Your yard is pretty amazing as it is, but I'm sure you have more wonderful ideas.
