Three angels proclaimed the story as the fifth text was read from the scroll. Three angels prepared the harvest at the sixth. And seven angels flew with bowls of incense at the seventh.
“Remember, He told you the harvest was great,” said John’s angel. Then John recalled the fat ears of grain and juice that poured from grapes; songs of rejoicing shared in festival. But the fruit was red, trodden down, and ran like blood flowing wide over the earth.
The angel sighed. “Four times four and ten times ten stadia,” he said, “the blood of nature and humanity combined.”
