My five Year Old Grand-Daughter's First Dance Recital - Photo Essay

My Grand-daughter had her first dance recital recently.

The owner of the dance school and Haley's teacher sent home a note stating NO CAMERAS or VIDEO RECORDERS. We hated to heat that but we followed the rules. When we arrived the first thing we noticed was that there were many people with cameras and video recorders. I was so upset. Why did they send home such a note if they had no intention of enforcing  it!!

She looked so beautiful and she did an amazing job. After the recital her father gave her roses. She was so proud.

 She is really good at this but it is so expensive  I had no idea that dance classes and recitals could be this expensive and then there is the cost of uniforms and such.

Adorable pictures. I miss my kids being in the recitals. My daughter just stopped dancing this year. It made me sad, but she didn't like it any more so what can I do.

SHe is such a cutie - I love seeing all the costumes chosen for recitals.

YEP Dance is SUPER EXPENSIVE - my daughter is taking 3 classes this year and my son is taking 2 - it is about $200 a month. PLUS YOU HAVE to buy the costume for EACH class (additional $35-70) and recital tickets ($15-20 each) and since no photos/video cameras if you want to buy the DVD ($50)

She's so darn cute! Your photos are so much better than mine too, and don't even get me started on the no cameras/camcorders thing or just how expensive this has all been. Did I tell you that Paige (Haley's teacher and the owner of the studio) asked me what I thought of the recital and I told her how disappointed I was that we were told not to bring our own cameras and then I get there to find that I was apparently the only one who followed this "rule". She insisted that the paper only said "no camcorders". I could prove it by showing them the paper they sent home but oh well. Next year I'll know more about all of this stuff. She did a great job at her recital. I was (and am) proud.

That outfit is adorable!! I did MANY recitals when I was little. Still have all the pictures and memories. I wouldn't trade 'em for the world!! :)

She is adorable and I just love her costume. What a shame that you followed the rules and weren't able to get photos. But, you did the right thing, the others did not. You have a beautiful young lady there who one can see has a lot of talent too.

Ours enforce the rules...and it's always been no cameras or video equipment during recital. I ususally take some during dress rehersal though.

Haley looks adorable!!! I'm sure she did a great job.

Oh, just wait until Haley gets older...dance gets more expensive. I know that one. Angela's been dancing for over 8 years now. Sports here are just as expensive though.
