(after an hour or so and several attemps yesterday, losing my work a few times because of Gather not wanting to let me publish, I am finally posting this article. I finally ended up just copying and pasting my work on this morning...)
Two weeks ago on Sunday we decided to go fishing, and it was Madelines first time fishing. We went with my mother and stepfather, and the older of my two (both younger than me) sisters and her bf met us there too! We fished for about 4hrs and didn't really catch anything. My stepfather caught a few crappie, my sisters bf caught a walleye and David caught a couple that were too small to keep. I wasn't fishing since I hadn't got my license yet, so I was just sitting with my mother and keeping an eye on Maddie, who was having the time of her life throwing rocks into the lake, lol.
We ended up throwing all of the fish we caught back since there were only two crappie and the walleye that were keepers. It was a slow fishing day. I did get some pics of the fun though!
Then on following Tuesday we were both feeling the fishing itch still and decided since David had a holiday he still had to use up that he took off and in the afternoon we headed to the lake. I got my license so that I could fish too, and the first spot we found fishing was slow. There were tons of chad flipping around in the water, so we figured maybe the bigger fish would be around biting, but nope. The pole we had for Maddie got 2 fish that I helped her real in! She was so excited! We did have a spongebob pole for her that I bought 5-6yrs ago when David and I went ice fishing and everywhere was out of ice fishing poles, but when David went to get the pole ready to fish the reel was messed up so it wouldn't work. We just let her try to fish with a big pole. She didn't want to watch the bobber though that was too boring, lol. She wanted to constantly reel it in.. After catching two small bluegill there we moved on to another spot on the lake, where Maddie and I walked around a bit to get some of her energy out while David threw a line in. Nothing was biting so we went to another lake.
We got to our final destination and got set up. It took awhile but then we started getting some bites. It seemed the hooks were too big, so David got us some smaller hooks and soon we were reelin' the bluegill in like crazy. Too bad they were all too small to keep, because even though I am not a huge fish eater, altho I do eat some fish, usually fried and doused in catsup though.
Here are a few pics from our fishing trip:

after awhile and only catching two small bluegill we moved to another spot:
Maddie wasn't in teh mood to fish so her and I walked around for a bit while David fished. She posed for me for a couple of pics

and we saw lots of ducks, but I guess I didn't upload any of those pics to this essay.. When we were done wandering around we went back to David who had decided that the fishing was no good where we were so we got back in the van and drove to another lake to fish.
Maddie had to be a big girl and help by carrying the tackle box :)
She wouldn't stay out of the minnow bucket:

I made David take a few of Charles and I so that we would atleast be in a couple of the pics>

Looks like you had a blast.... and I LOVE your photos!
What a great photo essay! Everyone looks like they are having a great time!
I remember fishing with friends and family back in the day and we loved it. There is nothing like fresh fish eating the same day it's caught!
Lovely photo essay!
