Feed The Roses

A great easy, and cheap way to feed your roses and get them to bloom is save your coffee grounds and egg shells. Just keep a bowl by your sink and collect those old gronds, and crumble the egg shells. Then spread around your rose bushes. A great green way to re-use, and no chemicals.

I would go easy with the egg shells with the roses. Roses like a very acid soil, which the coffee grounds provide. The egg shells, being mostly calcium, tend to neutralize the acidity. I will sometimes add egg shells directly to the coffee grounds when I'm making coffee to neutralize any acidity.
