President Obama is calling on all of his supporters who agree with him on the issue of closing Gitmo. He is calling on You! to step up and help your country in a meaningful way in regard to an important issue.
Our President has said, "The American people are not the problem, they are the answer," and has previously asked 'a new generation of Americans to put change into action through national service opportunities.' But despite repeated pleas from President Obama, he has been turned down time and again by our allies around the world.
And, this week, after being turned down by several members of his own party, even some of his most vocally supportive members, he is now calling first on some selected individual members of ACORN and then will set his sights on anyone and everyone who loves this country the way he does, including, in his own inimical and forward thinking way, many individual bloggers and members of social networking sites to step up in this crisis, a crisis that gives an immediate opportunity for service.
"Some people", the president says," lead by saying, 'No'. That's not leadership. And even though our plans are not yet in the shovel-ready stage we need volunteers as soon as possible." The president then expressed this plea, "Please ... somebody please say yes. Soooon. Send in your application today to be the first in your neighborhood to host a newly released Gitmo detainee". According to the detailed informational handout this reporter heard about, anyone who applies will get the chance to be eligible for an extra tax break in 2010, a seat on the dias at the next national ACORN and ACLU meetings, and willl have at their disposal at least a portion of $50 million in Federal Funds (depending on the level of service you apply for) to defer any relocation costs you may incur on behalf of any detatinees for which you take responsibility.
Plus, there is a good possibility some of these released detainees can become quite self-sufficient through Government entitlement programs due them as reparation for what they suffered under devil Bush's administration.
If you have an extra bedroom, a mother-in-law addition on your home, an empty rental propety, or on a larger scale, if you own or have access to a minimum of 15 acres or more, sign up today to be among those who could be chosen to host these released detainees. Be a leader in your neighborhood, not just another member of the party or crowd of, "No."
Don't wait; the number of detainees is limited. Get your application in today.

WASHINGTON - Amid fears that terror suspects could be brought to the U.S., House Democrats on Monday rebuffed the Obama administration's request for $50 million to relocate prisoners from the detention facility at Guantanamo, Cuba.
While only a minute portion of Obama's request, the $50 million to relocate Guantanamo Bay detainees has inflamed Congress and given Republicans an opening with which to bash Obama. Many Democrats were skittish about the prospect of voting to bring terror suspects into the U.S.
But the administration has yet to develop a plan to carry out Obama's executive order to close the Guantanamo Bay facility by early next year. The Pentagon has not said how many of the 240 or so detainees would be transferred to the United States or where they would be held. About 50 to 100 detainees would be shipped to this country, according to Defense Secretary Robert gates.

"The suspense is terrible... I hope it lasts."
Irt this particular Obama trouble .... "This mess is terrible ... I hope it lasts."
Doesn't seem like such a good idea when they're going to be their neighbors, I guess.

Personally, I'd be just as worried about getting attacked at the ACORN and ACLU meetings.
