Joan gave a splendid performance in Berserk. The movie isn't very entertaining, outside of her looking like she's going for her next Academy Award, but that's all the script's fault. A murder mystery needs a neato script. She plays the owner of a British circus, wearing sensational fishnets on her long gams. Murders happen - ho-hum. When Joan gets the poodles to perform in the ring, you know she means it !!!
I have heard this late 60s hairdo called the "cow pie". Joan was always up on the latest fashion, no matter what. She is in her mid 60s, here, very trim and fit, and is playing a ROMANTIC lead - ha ha - she bags the hunky man in shiny pants (at the end he falls to his death onto a bed of spikes, after a knife has been thrown into his back by her rotten spoiled daughter (life imitates art), Joan screams - and that's the film's only neato murder movie moment) !!!

Cowpie or no cowpie, she WORKS it!
Smashin' hat she's got there.
Blessings and best wishes - S.
The style was very in back then!!
You non-Texans, a cowpie is the round droppings of a cow. By the way, cowpies are huge and rather artistic.
