I've been trying to post several reviews for at least a couple of weeks now, but I haven't been able to get anything to post from the laptop. Finally it appears it's going to work, so I'm going to post these reviews. Sorry that they are late!
I was chosen to review the Deli Creations sandwiches. I was excited to get these for free, because they are already something that is regularly on my shopping list. I don't eat them very often, because they are high in sodium, but as long as I plan accordingly I can eat some of the varieties without worrying about it too much. My husband loves them, and takes one to work at least a couple times each week. Elliott also really likes a couple of flavors, so they make a nice easy meal when I don't feel like cooking.
My husband has tried a lot of different varieties and has liked them all. I've only tried a couple, because of the sodium issues. I don't like eating something that has over 1000 mg of sodium in it, just for a sandwich. I also don't let Elliott eat the ones that are high in sodium, so he's only tried the same ones I have.
My favorite is the chicken and bacon ranch. It is actually one of the lower sodium ones, too, so it works out well. It's Elliott's favorite, too. It's on a flatbread, which we really like. To me, it's the perfect amount of chicken, cheese and dressing. I do add lettuce to mine, but Elliott just eats what is in the box. I can't remember what the name of the sandwich is that my husband prefers, but it's one of the new ones. It has steak strips and peperjack cheese. I just checked, and can't find the name anywhere online, and we don't have any of it in the fridge.
The size is nice for Elliott and me. We always eat fruit and/or veggies with lunch anyway, so anything bigger would make it hard for me to get the healthy stuff in. My husband thinks that some of them are kind of small, though. He eats a salad, some other kind of side, a yogurt, and possibly a piece of fruit with his.
The prices of the deli creations vary greatly in our area. We can get them on sale at the commissary for $1.79 each, but if we go off base, they run from around $3.29-3.89. I wouldn't pay over $3 for them, and in all honesty, I probably wouldn't even pay more than $2 for them, or at least not very often.
If you want to try them, there is a $.75 coupon here on the smartsource website.
