Heartbreaking...

My sister's boyfriend, Steve, has been on furlough for the past 2 weeks from Afghanistan.  He is in the Army.  His time in the states is up as of tomorrow, and he travels first to Ireland and then back to Afghanistan.

His unit is a very active one, and he is in dangerous situations with terrorists and IEDs a lot.  Please say a little prayer for him.  He will be coming home for good in mid-August, but until then, he will need all the good thoughts he can get!

I hate seeing them so sad tonight.  They won't even talk about tomorrow and the fact that he's leaving...

I'll be comforting my poor Sissy tomorrow.

I hate that he has to go back but I am very thankfully for his service to the United states. He and your sis have my thoughts and prayers.

Awww!! That's tough. Been there, done that, and you don't want to think or talk about the pending separation until it's right in your face. The anticipation just of them leaving is awful if you let yourself think about it.

I'll keep him in my prayers.

My husband is in Iraq and won't be home until October. He can't take a midtour now since he had to come home in January when he was called back to active duty (he was a civilian contractor) - and then he was released again. So, they counted that as his 'vacation'.

Hopefully time will go by fast, and he'll be home before any of you know it!

I've heard it's bad out there. My husband has an uncle that left last month to go out. Very sad times and I hope that they all come back safe.

Watched my son go 3 times to Iraq and once to Afghanistan...he goes again sometime this summer once the final decision is made.

He'll be fine. God Bless him and the others who stand for us all.
