Happy Nurses' Week to all you nurses out there!
This is Nurses' Week and one of the ways we celebrated was to have a Cultural Diversity Pot Luck dinner. My background is so multi-cultural, I had no idea what to bring. My husband recently got some wonderful roasted curry powder and I had received my Mahatma Rice for my current Bzz campaign, so I decided to make Shrimp Curry and Mahatma Basmati Rice.
It turned out wonderful and I was proud that it was mine. By the end of the dinner, it the serving dish was empty!
I must have had 5 or 6 people ask me how I made it. Figured this was a GREAT time to Bzz. I told them that my husband had gotten this new curry powder and that I was a Bzz Agent. I explained to them that I had received the Mahatma Basmati rice to try and to share. I went on to tell them that one of the main reasons the Mahatma Basmati rice was the perfect rice to use in this dish, was because it was an authentic, aged Indian rice that paired perfectly with curry dishes. I told them that Basmati Rice has been grown in the foothills of the Himalayas for centuries and is famous for it's fragrance and delicate flavor and its name even means "Queen of Fragrance" in Hindi. The Basmati rice is a long grain rice that stays firm and separate, not sticky. I told them how wonderful my kitchen smelled as it cooked since it releases a natural, pleasing aroma. The delicate flavor is perfect for authentic ethnic meals but it tastes so good that it can be used as a replacement for any other type of rice they may use.
I handed out some of the coupons for a free bag of rice and made Nurses' Week a Bzz week!
Stay tuned for my Bzz on the Mahatma Jasmine rice.

Happy Nurses week to you :>}
Happy Nurse's Day! Nurses have a tough job, but, when my family is in the hospital, I trust the nurse more than I trust the doctor!
For the record, Bill and I buy our Basmati at our local organic store, and we sometimes have it for breakfast with raisins, nuts, a little brown sugar and milk.
