Folks: I am typing this quickly. There's another fire behind us. We aren't under mandatory evacuation but a warning has been issued to an area behind us. We are near Sycamore Canyon/Salinas area. I am scheduled to leave town in the morning for a month. We are watching to see what will happen. My housesitter will be staying here while we are gone. We'll be at our other place in Eureka, Nevada. The Santa Ana winds are blowing and the weather is divine. I knew something strange was going on when I heard so many sirens then saw the smoke. After a while, I smelled the fire, then saw ashes. Our electricity is going off and on so I will post this. I will get back to all of you when I can. Thanks for all your birthday well-wishes and I will comment back as soon as possible! Salud

Love to you. from Jan
Hugs and blessings - salud - S.
hope you guys had a safe trip. kisses all around.
Also I want to send you some Happy Birthday wishes. I think you share the same birthday as my son, Aidan. He will be three tommorrow.
Stay safe and take care of you.
I know that I'm late but my night duties are continuing and after 6 months of this extra physical activity I'm worn out.
First of all a belated but enthusiastic well wish for your birthday...complete with a birthday hug.
That fire sounds terrible. I hate destruction on such a massive scale...and I love trees.
I'll say prayers for you although I'm late. Lots of love. Fred
Everyone thank you for your prayers and well-wishes. All is well and yes, I held my breath for a long time as the winds had kicked up again but the fire is pretty well contained. I realized that it would be so hard to breathe in that air - and glad that I am here in the mountains for two and half more weeks. Thanks all of you. Salud
I'm gald things are better now.
