Last year, the CDC released a report that 52% of people between 45-64 with Diabetes, as opposed to 36.4% of the general population. The same study found that 30% of these people with arthritis and diabetes are inactive, even though exercise is helpful for both diabetes and arthritis (although both are incurable). It goes on to speculate as to the reasons for this.
I just walked out to the mailbox and it is damp out there, and I can easily answer their question.
It hurts. It hurts a lot.
I thought that I had arthritis in my hip, but the doctor said that it is in my lower back, and I can see that she is right because now it hurts not only in my hip but in my upper left leg as well. I can't have anti-inflamatory drugs because of my diabetes, because my blood is way too sticky already and the drugs make it more so. So I'm taking Ibuprofen and trying to be as active as I can manage.
But it does just freakin' hurt.

So though I have arthritis, it isn't a problem, just an annoyance for me. I am very lucky, indeed.
