Kindle 2 vs Sony Reader

Mothers Day is coming fast: however, my daughter wanted to move my birthday.  She thought my birthday is before May 10th, so keeps telling everyone that I'm getting old.  Yes, I'm getting older this month and have been noticing how hard it is to read small print in books.

This year I will be getting a Kindle 2 or a Sony Reader for Mothers Day.  I would like to know your thoughts on each one.  My husband printed out part of their users guides for me to learn more information.

I would like to know if you like it and how easy is it to use?  Is there something I should consider more than price?  The Kindle 2 is cheaper at Amazon with no sales tax and shipping than the Sony Reader.  I thought all of you should know this information.

I love my Kindle, but I have never used the Sony. I saw the Sony on t.v. last night & they wre using a touch-thing to make selections. That would be a minus for me if you have to use that to do anything.
Kindle just came out with their 2nd version & it looks a lot better, slimmer, etc. than my version 1 Kindle.
I have a few pictures of my Kindle in my photos here as well. Showing the screen & books on it.
You can change the font easily on the kindle as well.

Can't help you out with that one. I prefer my books in the traditional format.

I've been doing a bit of research on these myself, and actually think I want the BeBook over both the Kindle and Sony ones.

i have a Kindle, but not the 2. I absolutely love it. The only drawback is that I like to share books with friends and when you buy them on the Kindle, you can't. Other than that it is perfect!!!

I have never used any of them, so I can't help you. for me books are the best ever and I am not sure I would ever want to change them

Now they're releasing ANOTHER version of the Kindle... looks way too expensive for me to even consider.

I have the Sony PRS-700 and love it. I can read books in the sony lrf. format, adobe and a few other formats. I also can listen to audio books on it. I think it is a lot better than kindle because of all the free reading material you can get for it.
