I have been working on putting my portfolio together, and I was printing some of my photos last night, and I ran out of one of colors in my printer, eeeps, so it printed it in black and white, I was trying to cancel the print job, but running out of red ink is not a good thing, fortunately for me it was my last print I was trying to print, so I joked with my husband, you should have seen it in color.
The upside is I can buy the cartridges individually, so if I run out of one I only have to buy that color, however, and that was a major factor when I bought the printer, I will never again buy a printer that uses a tri color ink cartridge.....the one downside is that the black in cartridge is twice the price (but tiwce the size) of the color ink cartridges.
And I do need to do some more printing, I am going to work on printing out my camera manual, which won't be easy on my ink either, while I can do that one in all black ink it wouldn't be fun to run out of ink in the middle of printing that either.
Have you ever run out of ink in the middle of printing your photos or a document?

Tri color cartridges are annoying too. You end up wasting something because one color always runs out before the others.
I would think that there would be a way to disable that........I would consider upgrading your printer in the future...that has got to be the biggest pain. We do a lot of printing, and even more so now that I have permission to run a home based business for photography out of my home. (had to get permission from the landlord) So very slowly trying to put together some of my work......I need to print more photos that I have taken from concert shoots etc.
