Why is nutrition important for women? How does how and what you eat affect your mood?

Nutrition is important for me. I have fibromyalgia and with it, IBS. If I eat the wrong thing, it will definitely affect me in a negative way. I don't eat the way I should necessarily, but I do avoid a lot of red meat. I tend to order chicken and salad when I eat out. I need more fruits and veggies. My hubby and I just joined a local gym today in an effort to improve our health. We want to be around for our kids and grandkids as they get older!

Why is nutrition important for women? Women have greater needs than men, especially pregnant women.

How does how and what you eat affect your mood? Tonight I had a big cheeseburger for dinner and it was gooooood! Normally this type of dinner would make me feel guilty though.

It was a craving and I satisfied it.

How does how and what you eat affect your mood? LOL when I am stressed I eat chocolate. It just makes me feel better. When I am tired I get a little bit of caffeine I like the pick me up.

I notice that if I eat a lot of crappy foods I am more tired all the time. It is hard to plan ahead and eat healthy with so little time.

I like eating lots of salads. I take vitamins like vitamin C and fish oil gel tabs and garlic pills. I think turkey is very healthy for you and salmon. I eat salmon and tuna in my salads with vinegar and olive oil. I think those give me good energy and its healthy for me.

@Megan, Christina, Cindy and potassium questions...
Potassium is tightly regulated by the body, so be sure to check with your doctor to understand why you may be low.......potatoes, bananas, oranges and juice, tomatoes, are all potassium sources...
