Nutrition is important for me. I have fibromyalgia and with it, IBS. If I eat the wrong thing, it will definitely affect me in a negative way. I don't eat the way I should necessarily, but I do avoid a lot of red meat. I tend to order chicken and salad when I eat out. I need more fruits and veggies. My hubby and I just joined a local gym today in an effort to improve our health. We want to be around for our kids and grandkids as they get older!
How does how and what you eat affect your mood? Tonight I had a big cheeseburger for dinner and it was gooooood! Normally this type of dinner would make me feel guilty though.
It was a craving and I satisfied it.
I notice that if I eat a lot of crappy foods I am more tired all the time. It is hard to plan ahead and eat healthy with so little time.
Agreed! Nutrition is important for all of us!
Thanks for taking time to chat with us!
Thanks! Good to be back....just to tell everyone...I'm here to have fun with you guys and answer any nutrition questions you may have....I am running a little slow in the computer area tonight....so bear with me....(dial-up only)
Sounds like a good healthy eating plan!
How to “cure” PMS
in the topics and wanting to know the magic answer.
Eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables is a great start...the more colors the more variety of nutrients.......there's some info on the web for food pyramid...that talks about servings, portions, etc.
Beef, shrimp, sardines, turkey are great sources (besides liver)
Also enriched cereals, lentils and beans too. I find that helpful when I feel tired and think my iron may be low
I can't believe that this chat isn't filled with people trying to find the magic answer.
yeah, i'm into bananas too... my old music teacher used to tell me to eat one before a recital to make me less shaky.. Is it their postassium that does that?
thanks for sharing that Cindy B..........I have those all the time!
I also do know I am low on iron.....
Did you notice the "cure" was in quotes? I'd love to cure many things, but managing is more likely.....eating a well balanced plant-based diet, with exercise, plenty of fluids and sleep is a great place to start!
:(
Any ideas/suggestions/tips?
Potassium is tightly regulated by the body, so be sure to check with your doctor to understand why you may be low.......potatoes, bananas, oranges and juice, tomatoes, are all potassium sources...
If there's other mood issues going on, give SAM-e a try....it is a naturally occuring compound that in almost every cell of our body...and is a great mood support. Many people experience great mood support benefits....anyone taking it out there?
You and me both!
I had my hopes up that there was a magic cure.
Solve the motivation problem and we'll make tons of money
Love the way you think!
