Online Free Spanish Lessons
The Internet is a wealth of good resources. So looking around, I found this website. http://www.onlinefreespanish.com
Onlinefreespanish.com contains a series of interactive (auditory and visual) lessons to teach basic spanish words. Most of the website is geared toward children. The Spanish used appears to me to be traditional Castilliano, which is the language spoken in Spain. Castillion Spanish pronunciations are slightly different from the Mexicano spanish heard in the US.
This website has a variety of games that are fun to play. They have some Spanish music. They have seasonal games such as an Easter Egg hunt (just opened recently for Easter). I was impressed with the quality of the games (which seem to be Flash generated. So you'll have to be sure to have Flash Player on your computer). They even have a word search puzzle generator using the vocabulary taught in the lessons with the option to print the puzzles.
Some of the lessons contain conversation in Spanish. They give you "radio" buttons so that you can repeat, go back a page, see the dialogue and print the dialogue. Some common complaints about listening to the dialogue is that the characters speak too quickly. This is the nature of Spanish speakers, which is why the website has repeat buttons and visual conversation. Listening to conversation at normal speed while reading the conversation should be helpful in the long run even if it is a bit frustrating in the short run. One of the things I learned while working on Spanish with my own children while they were young is that you should listen, and listen and listen to Spanish being spoken by natives in the normal speed A LOT!
At the bottom of each lesson page and game page is a forum where you can rate the lesson/game and leave comments.
This is a fairly young website, and they are continuing to add more features as they are developed. Your comments on the lessons will help them to improve. You can sign up for their email newsletter and they will notify you of upgrades and additional games and lessons.
I recommend this website. Go and play around awhile, and have fun!

Thanks so very much for sharing this!
Gina, I'm honored. This one may help, but it is geared more toward little children. Still, anything should be helpful. But if you are trying to speak espanol del cubo, you may get a little confused with Castilliano. Just a thought.
