Well after 12 years of smoking, seeing the decline in my health, apperance and the rise in the cost, I have decided to try to quit. Went out and picted up a box of patches and put the first one on at 5pm est. So I hope this works....Wish me luck.....Nation

I used the patch to quit 12 years ago and haven't ever smoked again!

i know someone who just quit, he put the first patch on, left it on till it wore off, and never smoked since then, good luck, its a nasty habit, i am so glad i have never started. GO GO GO!!

Good luck on a tough challenge. I wore the patch, + some pills, and smkoked at the same time. Guess I wasn't ready yet. Big $$$ is tempting again tho.

Good luck quitting the sticks. I'll be tackling this task over the summer. I'm going to try to wean myself down to 4-6 a day and then do the gum.

good luck! I've been trying to quit without the help of aides as I just can't afford them. I did alright while I had 16 peices of the Nicorette gum left from what I got free offline. I just ordered 20 more free pieces in another flavor and hoping they come in. I've smoked for 30 years!!

Good luck, it is so much better after quitting! I smoked 2 packs a day for about 25 years and quit in '89, we had no patches or gum then, just do it!

well awesome, goodluck, by some tylonol also, and if you work where you have a smoking are DONT GO OUTSIDE(i used to work in an office) also try to avoid bars and drinking to much and other trigger areas....I would invest in some carrots and box cereal stuff to munch on that wont hit the waist,
also expect black gunk to come from your lungs(I just quit for the baby ) for bout a month gross but its your lungs cleaning themselves out! you will feelSOOO MUCHBETTER and get sick less!

Oh, I hope it works for you. Stay strong. There are so many health reasons not to smoke, besides the fact that it makes your face all wrinkled and old looking.

good luck! I tried about two weeks ago with the Nicorette gum, I went from 2 packs a day to 6 cigs one day, to 1 cig another, went through a bad day and up to smoking at least a pack a day again. Got my gum and getting ready to do it again. I will keep trying though, hard to do after 20 some years!

Good luck. Stay away for others that smoke. Explain that you are quitting. Keep yourself busy, especially your hands. When you are idle that is when it will hit you.

good for you Nation. I wish I had the smarts and courage to quit. I keep telling myself I will gain lots of weight....well I managed to do that anyhow and now I keep telling myself I can't afford to get any more weight on. Just an excuse but I do not like the way others smell or me. Don't like having to hide it all the time (going out side from everyone, feel like a sneak), and it's darn cold in the winter! I sent for the gum sample hope that will wise me up. I like to think I am smart but when it comes to cigarettes I am the dumbest there is. Hubby isn't any better but we do not smoke in house or car. Keep up the good work. I'll be routing for you !!!!!
