In the search for a caffeen fix I stoped at the local Quick Stop to grab a bottle of pop.
As I was heading to the register I spotted some pepsi bottles in an iced container near the front or the store. It had an interesting new name Throwback. So I decided to check it out and read that it was made with natural sugar! Any thing natural is a plus to me, since we seam to eat so many chemicals these days.
I bought two and Im sitting here drinking one now. The name Throwback comes from the fact that when a lot of us were kids pop was only made with real sugar not high fructose corn syrup. Back then pop was refreshing and not overly sweet. I have always though the Pepsi of today was lacking sometime, but never though about it being the sweetener.
Throwback does not disappoint~ I love the flavor and it is very much like the Pepsi from the good old days. I love this and hope that it sticks around. Now lets compare the labels
Nutrition facts:
Both have 100 calories per serving
Sodium: Pepsi has 20mg where Throwback has 25mg~ To me the taste is worth the 5 extra mgs.
Sugars: Pepsi has 28mg and Throwback has 27mg~ not a lot of difference but throwback is made with natural sugar and not high fructose corn syrup
caffeine: for both is 25mg
I will be choosingThrowback from here on out I was impressed with the taste.
Have you tried it? If so what do you think?

Me to usually, but if this sticks around that may just change of course I garbed 2 cokes while I was at the store too but their in the fridge. And will probably stay there for a while I was that impressed with this. I think pepsi may just have a winner with this one.
I haven't seen the Thowback Pepsi here yet, but Pepsi in general is just too sweet for my taste.
I haven't seen it anywhere yet. Hopefully it shows up here soon!
I finally tried this Angela! I try to stay away from sugar, but I wanted to see what the hype was about. Well, I liked it ok. It is a lot less sweeter then the corn syrup kind, that is for sure. Not as syrupy either. The regular pepsi always gave me a sore throat from how sweet it was. Hubby tried the Moutain Dew Throwback and he liked it a lot better then the regular kind.
In my quest to cut out sugars from my diet (I was type II diabetic, not anymore, but my HA1C is still on the high side of normal), I will probably not be drinking this too much. Maybe once in a while but not very often. Great reivew here Angela!
I don't drink Pepsi but I heard they have it for Mountain Dew which I haven't had.
Bad news: I heard it's only 1-2 months that they will have this out. Then it's gone :(

I Love the Throwback Mountain Dew reminds me of the way it used to be!
