The Female Cardinal Visit...(photo essay)

First let me say, the photos were taken through 2 separate panes of glass...that are actually about 5-6 inches apart....and honestly, not that clean.

These photos were all taken in a 10 minute span with me holding my camera through the slats on the shade. Hubby isn't to thrilled I bent the slats, but I didn't want to scare her off.

Picking up bird seed that fell from the feeder.

Hmm...I think I see something...

I definately see something, but I'm still going to munch on seeds.

I see the camera...yes, I definately see that camera.

But, I'm so hungry that I don't care.

I took a few more, but I figured this was enough....

I love these photos Janet, what a pretty bird. Maybe you should put some seed on the rail for her more often and then maybe even the male will come. The photos came out really nice even though they are through the windows.

It amazes me that such pretty birds should also have a pretty song. Nice pics - I never see them this closely even with binocs. Or at least, not for more than a moment.

We had a nesting pair of cardinals in our neighbors bushes the last few years, they were lots of fun to watch along with their babies. Alas, new neighbors and they pulled out all the bushes.
