I hate to admit it, but....

....I am getting older.  My body just isn't holding up.  I went to the orthopedics today for xrays to find out why my right knee has been bothering me.  I have severe arthritis in that knee with bone rubbing on bone.  My left knee is fine and the pain I occasionally feel in it is caused by compensating for the right knee.

I will be on the anti-inflammatory piroxicam for 30 days (Dr said it can take up to a week for it to work) and see how that goes.  If I am fine at the end of 30 days I don't have to do anything, but if it is still bothering me they will call in another prescription.

Has anyone here ever been on piroxicam (or feldene)?  I am wondering about the side effects and if anyone has experienced any of them.  The list is pretty extensive.

I haven't been prescribed those. I have relafen and darvocet for my hip.

I forgot what they gave me, and the only problem I had was that it interfered with my blood pressure.

My daughter who is 15 years old has had similar knee problems. She had the bone on bone rubbing and they gave her shots for it. It was a series of 5 shot. It helped alot. I can not think of the name of it right now. If I remember I will come back and post it. She also takes Glucosamine tablets.

Have you ever heard of ALFALFA tablets?They help with it.My Dad took gold shots and they did not help and a woman told him to try this,he walked better at 60 than I did at 36.I use it every day I think it helps.
