Carrie Prejean Threatened by British Man on...

Carrie Prejean was asked a question: She answered with her true belief. She says that she doesn't believe in same sex marriage. Some are saying she used her platform as opportunistic. She was cornered. She was given the question. Why didn't she use her opportuntiy to support Special Olympics? She wasn't asked about Special Olympics. She was asked about Same Sex Marriages.

Why, are we not allowed to speak our truth? If we attack people with opposite views we will all be robots with the politically correct answers. Miss California with her gorgeous smile is now a spokesperson for Same Sex Marriage. So the attack against her has made her famous where Miss USA could not have.

If the judge didn't want her answer, maybe he should not have asked. To ask a question, and not want an answer was just irresponsbile on his part.

To many want everyone to have their view, and think just like them, which is just not reality. I agree, if he did not want that view, then the judge should not have asked that question. By asking, he opened the door for her view.

Because you know, if we don't think like the person asking the question we are going to take heat from it. Just like there are people on Gather that continually berate others for not having the same political or religious views.

I see a lot of religious posts on Gather that are nothing short of judging someone for their beliefs, its an extension of what we see in the world.
No better way to promote their propoganda for or against an idea.

Yeah, I don't understand why people who share this belief aren't "allowed" to voice their opinion when asked, but yet we are berated and encouraged to "be tolerant" on a daily basis. So, doesn't "being tolerant" include being tolerant of both opinions? Or, only the side you agree with? I'm proud of her for standing up for what she believes even when it isn't the "popular" thing to say.

NO",Ms.Carrie Perjean was Not trying to be Opportunistic"in the Miss USA Pageant."that British Man,who was allowed to be a Judge in the USA Pageant;Totally BERATED Ms. Perjean for Her Total Honesty & True to Herself;in her Beliefs"also NOT Backing Down!!!( yes,she Could have totally LIED,& Told the British man what he wanted to Hear,to be Politically Correct and Then WIN the Pageant ) NO" she Stood Up for Her Beliefs and that is what Makes a Strong Woman !!!! For the British man;that's just a Death Threat.

Ishbel --- Carrie Perjean was a contestant in the Miss USA pageant that recently aired on US television. During the question and answer part Perez Hilton (celebrity gossip writer, etc...) asked her what her stance on gay marriage was. She told him that while she didn't agree with it personally, she was glad that there was a choice for people. You can google it to find her exact quote. I believe she got 1st runner up. Anyway, it has of course made the headlines here because she didn't just say what a lot of people want to hear. She stated her belief and stood her ground. Anyway, I don't know what the British man threatening her was all about. I haven't heard about that yet.
