Hey Gathererererererers!!!
We were approved for our apartment! You cannot even fathom how much of a weight of stress has now been lifted from my shoulders. I was so worried that if we didn't get approved, I would have to start again from scratch finding a place. Now, hubby has a house to come home to!
I've been in kind of a time crunch because part of his original sentence included 6 months of house arrest (with the opportunity to earn "good time" while on house arrest). Home confinement or "house arrest" means that he will be confined to the house with a monitoring ankle bracelet. He can't go ANYWHERE without the express consent and knowledge of his probation officer. In order for him to qualify for the home arrest, though, he needs a host.
As his host, I have to have a clean record (no felonies) and have been a resident in the state for at least 30 days. I have to show the probation office proof of electricity and landline phone in the house for the monitoring equipment.
All of this is such a big pain in the ass, but it is MUCH better than the other option, which is him staying in prison for another 6 months or going to a work release program and having to "bunk" with a bunch of other felons - which should pretty much be called prison, too!
I can't believe we only have 79 days to go. He is getting excited now that his release is a reality. I'm getting excited, too, but at the same time I'm really freaking out because I have a lot to do in the next month! I need to make some extra money somehow for the move and pack and transport everything! LOL! I would LOVE to be able to just sit around and WAIT like he is. I wish that I could put all of this stress on HIS shoulders...
I'm thankful, though, that he has been extremely supportive and understanding. When someone is sentenced to jail time, it's not just that one person that is being punished... it is their loved ones who pay the price, too. :(
Thank you everyone for listening to me ramble... :) I hope you have a great night!

I am glad you got all your things in orderm that is good, and you will enjoy those time together, might even mean 6 months without you,,,,,,
I have a teeny tiny idea of what you mean about not just one person being arrested. My husband was detaned at LAX airport in Jan 2007 coming home from Russia because of a non-existant warrant that was totally bogus, and that took 3 days to work out. Those three days were HELL, so if that was HELL, you must feel it a lot worse.
I'm so glad time is flying.
As for house arrest, you two will have so much marital "catching up" to do, that I doubt those 6 months will feel like 6 months at all for you and Hubby.
I bet you're so excited for his release and are counting the days down! LOL! hehe! ;)
I must have missed something. I should read through your posts. Hopefully the page views will help you earn a little bit towards the new apartment. yaya
Moving is fun, it's always exciting to get to a new place and meet new people. I have to admit it's a bit harder now that i'm an old lady, but I still get jazzed whenever my husband is transferred to a new place. My bones may ache...but my heart is ready!
