Who Was Eliminated From American Idol this Week? That guy with the crazy hats!

Hello American Idol fanatics!  After I came to my senses from last night's blog who lost on American Idol this week was not much of a surprise.   What WAS a surprise however was who was accompanying him in the bottom 3!   Ladies and gentlemen, you know him as the guy with the crazy hats.  Say goodbye to the final Judge's wildcard entry and also their saved contestant: 




Eliminated: Matt Giraud
Bottom 3: Matt Giraud, Kris Allen, Adam Lambert
My Bottom 3: Matt Giraud, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta
Dialidol Bottom 3: Matt Giraud, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta









As I stated, I may have overrated Matt's performance just a bit.   It wasn't awful, but I think I remembered the big note at the end and forgot the rest of the performance.   He was never going to win and his votes from last week were probably inflated due to the Judges' Save the week before.  So, good job everyone that called out Matt!    But I think you all owe me a pat on the back for my defense of Allison!  Top 2 this week eh?  Not too bad.   I mean, she really was awesome last night.   I still stand by that!   


But okay, let's get to the big news.  ADAM LAMBERT - BOTTOM 3.   Woa, wait a sec.  ADAM LAMBERT - BOTTOM 2!!!    Can you  believe it? I guess people aren't big fans of Cows Mooing!  Sure, this will all but solidify Adam into the top 3 with a HUGE rally next week.   But what does this mean?  Is Mr Jazz Hands vulnerable?   Can he be defeated!?   Well, I'm guessing the folks at American Idol would like us to think so.   Considering we did not see the votes, there is no telling that Adam was REALLY in the bottom 2.  We were just told that Kris was safe!  For a brief second, I was pondering the thought of a finale with Allison and Kris and how good and unexpected that could actually be!   Of course, still improbable.  Danny still has his Gokey'itesout there and the Jazz Hand Fan Club will definitely be showing their support in the coming weeks.   

 Just crazy.    And with the Rock WEEK coming up next, can Allison really be stopped from getting to that top 3 as well?   I sure hope not! 
But enough rambling on about the possibilities.  Let's get on with wrapping this thing up.   Highlights and Lowlights!
Highlights:
  • Ford Video - Actually pretty nifty this week, just like Matt Giraud's hats! 
  • Taylor Hicks - I give the guy a lot of crap for his lack of MAINSTREAM success, but I can't help but still like the guy, even if his new song "7 Minute Breakdown" won't be lighting up the charts.  He's still an entertaining guy and a great musician!
  • The Bday Food Fight - Well, it was probably an arranged fight by the Idol Producers, but who doesn't enjoy seeing cake thrown at other people?!  
  • Adam Lambert in the bottom 2!  Gives everyone else hope! 
Lowlights:
  • Natalie Cole -  most unenthusiastic appearance on Idol I've ever seen. 
  • Jamie Foxx - most self-absorbed man I've ever seen.   So glad he got to plug that movie instead of showing any amount of interest in giving feedback on the contestants.   And that performance?! Oh dear.   Gotta love the voice modulation on a show about good singing voices! 
  • Oh right, the Idol Group song.  Well, that was PEPPY wasn't it?!  It had pretty much everything you could possibly want except a constant sense of rhthym, melody and interest from the people singing it! 
Whew, well that's all I got from tonight.  Next week, Rock 'n Roll comes to American Idol and so does SLASH of Guns n' Roses/Velvet Revolver fame.   Perhaps our Idol Contestants will be playing Guitar Hero III as well?   Hope you enjoyed my ramblings as always and always look forward to hearing yours!  See you next week!

I was so upset when Adam was in the Bottom 3 and then the Bottom 2. I felt guilty because I never voted. And then I remembered you saying you voted for Allison 20 times! Guess who will be voting next week??

I was happy to see Adam in the bottom two. It told me I was not alone in the fact that although I think he is a great performer and would love to see him on broadway. I am not happy on voice alone and do not think he is the American Idol. I love Allison and Kris. Kris for his originality and Allison for the gift God has graced her with. Just wish she would show she cared. Danny OMG please go away. That's just my thoughts.

I guess I have to disagree a bit here, Adam is good, yes he is even great but even great lose their touch sometime and get beat. I think Kris is the dark horse and has gotten better every week and may just surprise everyone. I have always enjoyed Taylor Hicks but I think he has lost some of his appeal since winning. I think you had better listent to Natalie Cole again, for her age and to still have the powerful voice, nah she was right on in my books. But I agree with your take on Jamie Foxx. I think everyone left is talented; guess we will see how the do with the rock genre.

Eh, I'll stick to my opinion on Natalie Cole! Hey, I think she's a great singer and has had a great career. But that doesn't mean she "didn't show up" for the Idol performance! It's happened to a lot of older artists that have come to the show. It ends up making them look worse than anything else!

I agree Adam is good and I agree that he is still the most likely to win. But, there is just something about him that I can't get on board with! Agree Taylor has lost something since Idol. But, like I said, I can't help but like the guy! lol

Deb, as they keep saying on EW.com...it's time to put the "GO" in Gokey! lol

I think at this point, I would be content with anyone winning EXCEPT Danny. Although, I'd rather it be Allison or Kris (hysterical since I was totally not on board with him coming into the top 13).

Pamela, don't worry, I'll think of something to make fun of next week! We can even have an encore of Matt's hats! They're just that hysterical!

Mom, I have no doubt that you and MANY Adam Lambert fans will be out in full force next week voting! Don't worry, I have an unlimited TEXT Message plan to support Allison! (of course, only if her performance is worthy naturally!) :-)

I think Adam is good but I think he did deserve to be in the bottom this week. I honestly dont see him as an American Idol, I could not see him recording a hit album. Although I am curious about what he will be singing next week (Rock Week). I think Steven Perry (Journey), Freddy Mercury (Queen) or even Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin - Doubtful) could be interesting choices for vocal preformers. I know Slash (one of the greatest guitarists ever - GNR) is on the show so maybe even some Axl Rose, "Sweet Child Of Mine," but I don't know if he could pull that off.

Danny needs to go home, I don't know who is voting for him - he is the next Taylor Hicks in my opinion.

Allison and Kris both have a lot of potential and I could see both of them putting out very popular songs in the future.

I totally agree with Matthew, Angie and Deb. Adam needed a reality check - this is not a one-man show and frankly I'm a little tired of AI catering to all his whims (the walk down the stairs... c'mon, NO other contestant gets staging like that). I'm not discounting how great he is, but his take on Feeling Good was kinda awful. Kris and Allison both did a great job this week - I would love to see the two of them in the final.

This will be a real battle. Kris and Allison were very good. Adam is very interesting. His number didn't really blow me away, but it was good. I actually liked Gokey, which I usually don't. I thought he brought some emotion to his number, which was good. I'm not sure that there is a clear front runner now.
