I would say over all her IEP went really well today, I still a lot of questions, but I did come away with a better understanding of what they want to do with her.
1) my first question was why were they showing her so much lower then speech??
A. the test results I got were back from Feb. and they agree since then she has done a lot of growth
2) why was she still able to be in pal??
A. she is still only function about a 2 year old, but the good news is in the few months we have been doing this early intervention, she has grown well over a year.
3) could she be in ESY?? (extended school year)
A. she could be but they don't want to put her in because she would be with kids alot lower then her and it could drag her down. The other thing is there is no speech included with esy.
So over all I got a few questions answered, but still have a few more. I did have a great heart to heart with the teacher and she was really good about it. She LOVES brianne and she is so impressed with her growth but she is not sure if she will be out of the special ed even next year. So i guess this means I need to work even harder with her to get her mainstreamed for kindergarten. Although I left with the impression they don't really think that will happen, but right now that is my goal.

How old is she? My daughter went to reg. kindergarten....and at 2, she didn't speak a word. She stayed in speech but that was it...
You sound like a terrific mom.
Hello
I notice that if we put the boys with higer functioning children they tend to rise to that level, if there is lower functioning children in ESY it could cue her to the lesser behaviors...I think she is doing great mom!!

Hi from HH
and the younger one has a severe speech delay.
I get worried that my younger son still hasn't spoke a full sentence even after a year and a half of therapy.
Here's some love from, Points Nation!
