It seems that Swine Flu Fear is sweeping the nation, and why not? Today, the first U.S. death was recorded due to swine flu. Yes, the media and Twitter and even bloggers like me are probably adding more hype to this than it deserves, but that's the world we live in. When everyone turns to the internet for information, powerful changes can take place in the psyche of individuals.
I have some friends who just got back from a cruise over the weekend, and yes, they went to Mexico. While they were enjoying the beach and the sun, making sure their kids were protected from the UV rays, they never thought they had to protect them from some rare virus. When they got back, they went and got checked by the doctor. The girls wearing their Peaches uniforms were sure to be careful to wear their masks and not let it spread. Seems like they are all going to be ok though.
Having the flu is bad enough. You get sick to your stomach, aches and pains, and fevers are no fun at all. I had the flu badly earlier in the year and found out it was pneumonia. If I am feeling any symptoms at all, I won't hesitate to get it checked. I don't want to be in bed for another week, sipping on loose leaf green tea, eating saltines and trying to stay hidrated. Now, with the chance of death, you can be sure doctor's offices are flooded all over the country.
Our country filled with 24 watchers are now scared of the slightest threat. Thanks Jack!
