When I say the morning calls of birds outside my window
reminds me of my childhood
I am really saying
I am still
a lover of bird songs.
I am still loving.

I love this brief tribute to innocence.
On early mornings when I stop by my favorite grocery store, there are little lollipop-shaped trees that are just packed full of little birds carrying on for all they're worth -- noisy little critters! -- they make me laugh every morning.
Now, when I hear them, I'll think of you, and wish you could share the laugh.
You would have loved to walk through Miantonomi Park with me on Friday. Flicker, Towhees, Titmice, Chickadees, Pine Warblers, Robins, Cardinals... there was quite a session going on.
Hugs and blessings - S.
We always have within us your poem. It is nice to see it worded here.
