Well, since the rain finally let up I got our feeder up. We had been waiting for it to dry out to get our new recycled feeder out on the porch.

Since it's recycled, it's already got Gideon's seal of approval (they talked about recycling in school so he's been talking about it a lot at home) It's actually a tray from a Kid's Cuisine dinner (the pop rocks one) that Gideon likes to get.
So, since there are 3 trays in there I made it a bird buffet, LOL.

Big section: Seed mix
Next biggest section: Nuts in the shell
The smallest section: Nuts out of the shell for the smaller birds and birds that can't open them so easily.
Look it even has a penguin on the bottom, LOL.

It's on the furthest edge of the porch rail and about 4 feet or so from our front door.
Within an hour we had visits from a grackle and Gideon was DELIGHTED to see him break open a nut and eat. Yes, this feeder will be very fun.
Now if only our nut filled feeder can get Gideon a blue jay (his favorite) visitor. Last year there was one flying around with 30 feet of our house. So we can hope.
Later this week we'll be making another feeder that's recycled. It'll be a window feedr, though. :) I just need to get the suction cups on Thursday first.

HUGS to Gideon ~ I hope he shared this in school. This is very therapeutic . . . Would you please share this over in Artistic Therapy ~
HUGS ~
Rene
Thanks Priscilla. It's super easy just grab any frozen food and wash out the tray. :P
Thanks Kimber.
Rene, Gideon's been looking to see what recycles and what doesn't. He's excited to see the birds coming to his recycled feeder. Within the hour we had guests. :0)
He hasn't shared it in school if I can find a way to work it in I'll do that. Maybe when I email the photos I took of the class to his teacher.
Sending it over now.
