This morning I have been busy emailing coupons from companies, as the coupons I receive are usually much better with value and expiration dates than the ones in the local paper. Lately it seems as if many companies have been decreasing the value of their coupons, but they are usually very generous if asked.
This is my standard email, which I change around so that it fits the company.
Dear Ore-Ida representative,
My family and I are loyal Ore-Ida customers, and we just love your products.
While we are trying to stay within our strict grocery budget, we still like to splurge frozen potato products once in a while.
I would therefore like to ask, if it is possible to request coupons for your great products.
If so, I would highly appreciate it.
Sincerely,
So far I have emailed the below companies, as these are all companies that has sent me great coupons in the past.
CVS - complimenting their training pants
These are companies that I have not contacted before.
Do you email companies to request coupons? If so, which companies/products have you had great success with?

Chris, you sure have it good:)
Michelle, Amanda and Cindy, you can start with the ones I have listed, as I have added links to the contact page.
Carolyn, I always email a company, if I have a complaint, but I make sure also to email with compliments. They especially like if you are specific about a product, so I always try to compliment our favorite product. It really gives great results.
Yes, Netty it does take some work, but as a SAHM using coupons wisely is one of the ways I help with our household budget. I figure it is the least I can do, since my husband works so hard every day.
I usually go through the products in my cabinet, write down the names and then I get right to it.
I bet if you offered to review the product in addition to complimenting them they would happily send you some coupons for free products!
Alex, whenever I contact a company about a defective product or with a complaint, they usually send a replacement coupon. I have done this with Huggies, ziplock, Uncle Bens and many more. Sometimes the companies will even send you free product coupons, if you send them a compliment.
Rae, I should do it more often as well:)
Amy, try it and soon your mail box will be booming with coupons:)
Sophie, it is really a great way to get coupons for the products your family actually uses. I think it was Edy's who actually told me that customers can request coupons every three months.
I went through my cabinets and wrote down all of the items that I use on a regualr basis and wrote a letter/email to the company. I googled the company to find their email or regular mailing address and did one mass mailing. I spent about $5 in stamps to the companies that did not list emial address, but received about $45 in coupons, so it worked out.
Oh, I found a $5 JC Penny gift card that I won in a geocaching thing a few years ago. I checked the 800# and it still has the $5 on it. I know you shop there often. You want it? Email me your mailing addy and I'll send it out right away.
I decided to call the 1800# on the items. And make one call a day. I got sooo many samples and coupons! I would call with a suggestion or comment or praise and then ask if they had a mailing list.
Marianne that is an offer I cannot refuse:)
Do they send you coupons in the mail or email? And if so, how often do you contact them? Or how many do they sent?
