Back From Talladega And We Are All OK

Hi Everyone I logged on this morning and the first thing I saw was an article from one of my Gather friends Patty H wondering if I was OK because she knew we had drove down to Alabama to go to the Nascar race at Talladega. I didn't even realize people noticed when I was gone  let alone think about my family and me. So I just wanted to tell everyone we are fine. We just got back late last night.

The bad crash at the end happened right in front of us or at least it started in front of us and finished less than 100 yards to our right so we got a close up view of it all. Very closeup we were only 5 rows back. We were very relieved when Carl Edwards got out of the car on his own because it was a BAD crash. He is not my driver although I do like him a lot I never want to see anyone get hurt.

We had a great time Hunter just loved it! More about that later I have over 200 pictures and videos I took. Don't worry I won't post them all.

I have a ton of things to do to get ready for Hunter's Birthday party in a few days so I will be on sporadically but I will try to get caught up with everyone's content as soon as I can. Probably mostly viewing but I will be commenting as time allows. Just give me a few days to catch up.

I'm SO glad to hear you are okay. That must have been scary to be so close to the action. Were the people who were injured in front of you or was that further down? You even had your son with you? *Whew* that was a close one! I hope they make some changes to keep everyone safer. What do you think they could do?

Denise - Actually it was not scary to me I love the action! The people who were injured had minor injuries and are fine at least that is what we have heard since then. They have actually made changes in the past. There is a fence that comes up and over the first several rows to prevent the cars from flying into the crowd during a crash(that has happened in years before.) Nascar is good about safety issues

Charles the 90's are cool weather?
Believe it or not it was actually hotter here in Maryland on race day. It hit 101 here.

The finish to the race was an exciting one! I love the crashes and am always glad no one gets injured. This one was spectacular! Jeff didn't win, but neither did Jimmie...LOL! :-P

LOL Cute Rob. No Jimmie did not win but hey he is the champion make that 3 year in a row champion ! I actually was a little irritated that Jeff was involved in the crash at lap 6 this is the second race that we have taken my son too that he crashed early and my son was not able to really see him race.

As for the song of the day I'll try to get on that ASAP. Hopefully today but if not I'll start it again tomorrow.

Glad you made it back safe and sound. I really, really wanted to be there too....

I never want to see anyone hurt, and I also was disappointed on how many were involved in that lap 7 crash. I felt so bad for Mark Martin...that hurt...dropped him 5 spots in the points.

I saw the highlights of the crash last night on some show and to think you were right there. Too bad, I would have looked for you if I knew you were 5 rows back, maybe even waved hi : (. I did miss you, but figured you were just busy getting ready for Hunter's birthday party and vaguely remember you stating something about going to see a NASCAR race here awhile back. Glad you're back!
