Well, I finally got credit for writing a post so fervent, by some peoples standards, that they ran away with their tails between their legs, it would seem!
I am writing this tongue-in-cheek and can hardly contain myself, my reality-meter is off the scale!
I must say, it doesn't matter what they say about you, as long as they spell your name right.
For someone who was so vitriolic and vehement about their convictions, using anger to promote Christianity, no less; for them to write-and-run, taking their nasty comments with them, to keep disturbing the good people here at Gather, with hopes of vengeful retribution seems a pitiful waste of time and energy if they feel they are so in the right, getting spouses to fight their battles for them, leave their hatred for all to read!
Oh well, it isn't worth the protestation that I am sure would follow if I were to write a foul piece of slander about said people. You know who you are, Sandy, and John. I don't hate you but I have little time for you.
If you haven't the sophistication of an intellectual, willing to explore all that someone wishes to share without quoting old, dreary Bible passages at them, as though you have no ideas in your own words, so-be-it.
I am not a heathen and really, this post of yours is not worthy of the time I am taking to reply to it.

A war is not about God, simply because some of the people involved believe different things regarding God. No more than it is about language, simply because some of the people involved speak different languages.
To cite Northern Ireland, is ludicrous, nobody was upset about how someone else worshipped God, for goodness sakes . . . and Israel, and the Palestinians, are among the LEAST religious societies on earth, and are certainly not fighting in the name of God. How can you say the N. Ireland isn't about religion? I am british and know all too well the life-long fights between the cAtholics (poor) and Protestants (rich) in No. Ireland! All the Protestants have the land and money and the poor catholics are the beasts of burden.
israel and Palestine is not just about land, It is a Jewish -Arab fight. The Crusades were to bring the Infidels to heel.
It is precisely this narrow viewpoint of the world that you so-called cristians (the cult aspect of religion) are at fault for causing all the derision and suffering in this world!

I think that we've come a long way with respect to women in this country. Indeed, women are treated much worse in other countries. But, Georgiana and Elizabeth, you are correct. There are too many men (and some women) who seem to think that powerful women are a threat. We have so many examples that speak to the benefits of women finding their own personal power and acting upon it. Society is a much better place because the laws were changed to require that women be treated equally and given the same opportunities in the USA as men. Don't let the neanderthals get to you.
