
Dark locusts poured from the portal to hell, chewing the hearts of people instead of crops. John called to the guardian angels for help, but they just turned their backs and the demons ranged wider. Fire poured down from the mountain. Smoke filled the air. And the whole earth shook with the shouting of God’s call.
“It’s all in the prophecies and history and law,” said the angel. “Why don’t you look?” But John couldn’t see to read with the tears in his eyes.
“Is this the end?” he asked, then the angel cried.
“You’re still not listening,” he said.
