I had a pretty good writing weekend this weekend. My blog went over pretty well, and I wrote a movie review along with a couple thousand words on my new novel on Sunday afternoon, and successfully got my "groove" back, and I made a little progress on another article I'm working on as well. And as part of it, I ran across my poetry book, The Long and Short of It, on Lulu.
My poetry book was the first thing I self published, picking the cover from several free templates Lulu had available at the time. I've never really done much for marketing on it. It was a test project, to see if I could get a quality product out of Lulu before entrusting them with my novel No Sensible People. It worked, because I published a few different versions of the novel with them available both on Lulu and on Amazon. The Long and Short of It is exclusive to Lulu.
Recently, Lulu revamped their book cover wizard leaving books created, for the most part more original than their previous free cover templates. I decided to test the wizard with The Long and Short of It. The new version allows more professional looking layouts for free, but is largely dependent on having your own photo or other image for the cover. There are a few designs, and ultimately I used one of themes as I redesigned The Long and Short of It, since I didn't have a photo ready. Despite being my "experiment book", the poetry is not so bad. Much oif it has been read or performed in public and has not resulted in loud snores from the crowd or produce flying in my direction. I have it available in print for $6.97 and as a free download. Of course people are always free to buy one of the print or downloads of No Sensible People as well.

Good luck with it by the way.
By the way, I'm enjoying the downloaded book.
