How do you pop popcorn?

So I was standing at the stove tonight shaking a pan back and forth over the burner waiting, for what seemed like an eternity, for the corn to pop and I wondered how many people still popped corn in a pan on the stove.  Then I thouht, well, I'll ask my gather friends.

How do you pop corn??

Most of the time I pop popcorn in the microwave.

I do use the micro, but I heard that it is very bad for you- so maybe I'll look into kevin's solution.

I microwave.....but I do love the taste of popcorn popped the old fashioned way. I haven't popped corn in a large pot since I was a teenager.

For years, we always did microwave style. Recently, however, I started doing it the old fashioned way: on the stove.

We love it freshly popped like that!

I haven't popped corn on the stove in ages, if ever! I usually use an air popper or microwave, but I'm trying to get away from the microwave stuff. We did buy a jiffy pop when we went camping one time for the kids. Wasn't easy to find!

we do microwave, but still have a popper that sorta looks like Kevin's, its just a few years older. I used to love buying jiffy pop and watching it pop up.

I normally do microwave. But have been known to buy it to cook on stove to show my younger kids it taste so much better
We bought an air popper back before Christmas for under $20. It tastes SO much better than microwave! I can buy a big bag of kernals for under $2, and get about 15 large bowls from it. In the long run, it's also a lot cheaper than microwave, and healthier than stove top, since you don't use oil.

I use the good ole stove top method for my popcorn.. I dont care for microwave popcorn anymore.. and I cant afford an air popper! :)
