I was down at the video store and checked out Seven Pounds with Will Smith and was glad I did.
Seven Pounds grips you from start to finish with Will Smith playing the role of Ben Thomas who is a man that impersonates an IRS agent to track down certain people. Who was Ben Thomas and why was Ben doing what he was doing? It all comes out as the movies goes on.
Seven Pounds had to do with Seven people and in the beginning of the film Will Smith meets one of the seven people by calling a customer service center posing as a customer and verbally abuses a blind customer service rep named Ezra, who in his spare times plays the piano and help kids by playing music with them but is lonely. As I was watching this scene, I thought Will was way outline in what he said to Ezra for what was just a small customer service issue. Will eventually tracks Ezra down and watches him in a diner from another both and then tells Ezra to ask the waitress out! And then says as he walks away your name is Ezra, right?
There were other gripping characters in the movie, there was a kid who needed a bone marrow transplant, a volunteer hockey coach who was on dialysis, a young woman who needed a heart transplant and the abused woman who was afraid for her life and that of her kids that needed a safe place to live and new beginning.
At the end of Seven Pounds Will Smith's "Ben Thomas" true motivation was revealed and this ending was gripping. It can be said that Ben Thomas gave his all and the reason why became crystal clear.
Seven Pounds is a must see!
