I said goodbye to you today
as I watched the geese
skim across the water
in a picture perfect landing;
Oh, that I could land so well!
But these wings are weary,
tattered and bruised,
unable to even soar.
I stay close to the water's edge
staring at my reflection
amidst the sunlight
as it dances across the water,
calling to me.
In my darkness, it beckons.
Oh, how I long to be cleansed!
I long to soar again with angels
feeling sunlight wash over me
from realms of heavenly blue.
My heart needs a home.
