You said you agreed
how often we sit on separate sides
pretending the wall is not there
you seem to know nothing of what the problem is
I explained as well as others
to you all is as it was
see things go on as they did before
your betrayal has caused a schism
you do not see what you have done
to you, to me, to us
what is to be said that has not been said before
mangled, twisted wrought iron steel
lost it's beauty with a single act
now what is left
to sleep, perchance to dream

I can't help but wonder who betrayed you, though I don't expect you to tell your inspiration. Perhaps the true meaning escapes me because it is so profound, but your poem is well written and resonates with anyone who has been hurt. We certainly all have and I'm sorry that you were/are.
