My dad received his birthday package today!  If I want to be certain my dad gets his packages I need to mail them to his friend Steve.  My dad doesn't have the most honest neighbors or a reliable post person.  Steve came by this morning and gave my dad his package.  He was so excited.  He told me over the phone this morning that it was his favorite present by far.  The contents included a soft cotton long sleeve blue shirt, individually wrapped orange candy slices, 1lb of organic ground coffee, and movies The Return of the Pink Panther and No Country for Old Men.  I think what was most exciting for him was being able to add two more movies to his collection, especially ones he has been looking forward to watching for a long time. 

I enjoy mailing these "care" packages to him since he does not have a car and usually doesn't have access to purchase these items.  My dad was also laid off a couple of months ago so I know he appreciates whatever I send to him.  Being that I shipped his presents from Texas by Parcel Post on Sunday, 4/19 and they arrived in Pennsylvania on Thursday 4/23 I would have to say that it was a "Speedy Delivery" as Mr. McFeely of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood used to once say.  Why pay more with Priority Mail (where the timeframe is not guaranteed) when you can save some cash by using Parcel Post and have your package arrive within the same timeframe?
