Greetings from Savannah! We checked into a hotel just after midnight after leaving Fort Myers around 2:00 this afternoon. The driving was easy, and my daughter took over for a couple of hours while I snoozed.
I hope to get into the downtown Savannah area in the morning and get some shots of the trees draped in Spanish moss. I think it is so beautiful, and has an almost mysterious look to it.
We've been stopping every now and the to take some hilarious photos of ourselves. We always find something kind of silly to keep our minds occupied on the long drive home. Last year we photographed a Red Sox bear in every state along the way. This time we're just photographing ourselves...or I guess I should admit mostly me...in some precarious positions. Now, relax.....before you think I've gone off the deep end, it's not all THAT bad, but it is incredibly funny. You know the kind of humor people respond to (orv resort to!) when they're sleep-deprived and bored stiff? It's funny per those guidelines. I'll share the details after I'm home, and I might even post some pictures!
Not sure how far tomorrow will bring us. Virginia would be nice...or maybe even Oregon. No, wait.....wrong direction!
