I know I haven't done this for a while but the timing of these scriptures is so real for me that I wanted to share them with you.
I'm going to give you two scriptures related to dealing with fear and taking control over it.
Here they are:
2 Timothy 2:7:
7Think over these things I am saying [understand them and grasp their application], for the Lord will grant you full insight and understanding in everything.
Hebrews 13:5-6:
5Let your [a]character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] [b]Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor [c]give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [d][I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor [e]let [you] down ([f]relax My hold on you)! [[g]Assuredly not!](A)
6So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?(B)
I'm dealing with a situation right now that I won't go into but the enemy is doing his best to get me into fear over it. I've been taking authority over it all day and resisting it and then called to get prayer about it a little while ago. While the prayer warrior was praying, God reminded me of the above scriptures that He gave me in this timing. The one in Hebrews where I've underlined are the parts that He's had me focusing on.
The minute I pulled it up and started reading it, I felt empowered and just love how it says that He will not leave me helpless or forsake me or relax His hold on me. God guarantees that He will be there to help us through and we are to take comfort and be encouraged and boldly say that He is our Helper and not to be seized with alarm.
Then, 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that if we are believers, we have not been given a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. The Bible says over and over again that we are not to fear or be afraid. God is bigger than any situation we face and He will see us through. We just have to do our part and trust Him.
We also have to be diligent to cast down all imaginations and every high thing (every thought) that exalts itself against the true knowledge of God which is His Word. Anything contrary to what He has promised you or is against you is against God if you are a believer.
Another of my favorite scriptures is from Isaiah 54:17 that says no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I use that constantly when faced with challenges and I also use I Peter 5:7 which says to cast all of our care over on Him for He cares for us. Sometimes, I have to cast it over repeatedly until it sticks and be diligent to come against any thoughts that are contrary to me and the situation I face but as long as I don't give in to the fearful thoughts, God always comes through.
You have to remember that meditating or thinking on fearful thoughts is faith in that fear or what you fear instead of faith in God's Word. You have to come against the fear with Words of faith and refuse to receive the fear.
I have to stop for now but I may continue this later.
