Bush II,
I'm sure I could dig the dirt up on Bush I if you wanted me to, but so many seem to think that Bush Jr was a saint, and he's not, like every president in recent memory he, too, has had ties with shady organizations.
The top one that came in my search is this one....
http://www.apfn.org/APFN/WTC_profits.htm
> Meet the brazen Al-Arian family of Tampa, Fla. Sami Al-Arian a University of South Florida professor and his son Abdullah, a Duke student, who was an intern for Democratic whip, Rep. David Bonior, a Michigan gubernatorial candidate who is very supportive of Arab-American leaders' efforts to block reasonable counterterrorism measures.
Dr. Al-Arian is the author of this speech: "We assemble today to pay respects to the march of the martyrs and to the river of blood that gushes forth and does not extinguish, from butchery to butchery, and from martyrdom to martyrdom, from Jihad to Jihad." <
Here is another link showing what a perfect angel Bush was and is:

>One of George Bush's key choices for a major diplomatic role in his administration is almost certain now not to be appointed - because of his links with terrorism.
Otto Reich, a Cuban exile, was nominated by the US president this year as under secretary of state for the western hemisphere. This week a source for the Senate foreign relations committee, which has to confirm the appointment, said that Mr Reich's chances of being confirmed were now almost zero.<
I don't agree with everything Bush did while in office, and his last year was THE worst of his administration, he started laying the groundwork of bailouts and spending we are seeing now.
But while I'm not looking at Obama through rose colored glasses, I say the same thing about Bush. His brother also had shady contacts as well, and I haven't heard for sure that Jeb won't be running in 2012. I can truly say, if another Bush runs for office in 2012, I won't vote. I lost a lot of respect for Bush when he did a 360 on religion and recanted everything he stated he believed in the 2004 election. He did that to just get votes....And people wonder why I didn't believe Hillary about her faith when she and her husband were having 'problems' when he was president?
I could probably go back and do searches like this for every single president in recent memory.
The Republicans, seem to like to flaunt it in the publics face when a Democrat associates with a known terrorist, however, its just not true when a photo or story gets thrown out of their own associations with terrorists and organizations that deal with terrorists.
Hate me if you want to, Love me if you can

And what did we get in return?
See comment made to Alexander.
Only the "simil justus et peccatur" type. Forgive me if my Latin is rusty.
I'm not quite that critical of Presidents. Some I like (forgive me for being a diehard Republican), but not all Republican Presidents were completely likeable. Some I don't like, but not all Democrat Presidents were completely unlikeable.
Actually the point I want to make is that the Office of President is much more complex than anyone wants to admit. The President is, in many ways, powerless. The task is so monumental, that he must rely on staff members of all ranks to make ordinary day-to-day decisions. The President is truly visible only when either something fantastic has happened or will happen; or when something unthinkable has happened or will happen.
I sure wouldn't want the job.......... I have enough difficulty just being me.
I could go dig up the dirt on Clinton too, but no need to rehash what the republicans already dragged out with Ken Starr once already
I totally agree with you, that most, if not every president has made many mistakes.
And while I have to say that we are seeing a huge administration difference between Obama and Bush, Bush has been the scape goat for the new administration. While I think Obama Has made mistakes, I also felt compelled to point out that Bush wasn't perfect either.
I sure would not want their job.

I'm not surprised by this at all.
To me that is the only way you hold them to the rule of law. How despicable. If Clinton had not given Bush I a pass on the investigations into Iran Contra, that were bearing interesting fruit, as he took office, and suspended them, we would likely have never had to suffer Bush II. The brand would have rightly been forfeit. If Nixon had been impeached, like he deserved to be, it's very likely one of his henchmen, Darth Cheney would have never had the nerve to push his unitary executive model upon us all. Without the pardons of Abrams, etc., we would probably never heard of a Neocon. We get what we deserve, and I think we deserve administrations that think twice before breaking the law of the constitution they are sworn to uphold, you obviously think different...
Do I hear comspiracy talk going on? Who's the next boogey man? Is it "them"? Is it me? Is it you? How about taking care of self and those close to you. Much more rewarding than trying to out do one anther with rants and raves about former (and present) presidents.
Careful now, you are conservative, yet, here you are making a reconciling statement.
That is against Republican rules.
Thoughtful post.
And what I say is the truth.
Bush did have questionable friends, just like Obama, Clinton, Bush I, Every president and most presidential candidates has had friends that run in very very questionable circles, and I would call any single one of these people, to include Obama on it.
