I have tried to sing up for the freecycle group in my area, but they said that I have to post an item to give away before I can 'shop' with them. So I just gave up! I hope you get some tickets :-) Have you tried Craigslist?

I haven't actually gotten anything, but I have given away a bag of clothes through Freecycle. I did get a lot of pregnancy books very cheap through Craigslist, though.

I have given away a lot, from coupons to a bed, I have recieved clothes and books....and gotten a few wants just remember for every "offer" there is hundreds of people who may be interested....and for wants there isa chance no one has it...I like this program...

We've offered stuff, but when people realize how far out in the country we are, they don't show-up, don't email, and don't even call to say as much :-( Haven't offered anything for a while.

I used to be a member back in Denver or Vegas, but the number of posts were kind of overwhelming so I unsubscribed while still living there. Haven't joined the Portland group.

I am a super believer in Freecycle. I just joined the one here in Guelph. When I was moving from Arizona, I gave away everything in a furnished apartment except what would fit in two suitcases. I even gave away my 10-year-old car that was in good condition.
